The Dance Atikk Crew

Lucy Everett
Principal, Owner & Teacher at The Dance Atikk

I opened The Dance Atikk in 2009 with a deep passion for dance and a vision to create a space where everyone could enjoy the freedom and expression of dance. Over the years, we’ve worked hard to build a relaxed and welcoming environment where students can develop solid ballet technique, explore modern dance styles, and enjoy a twist of street dance, all while feeling part of a supportive community. We truly hope we’ve achieved our goal of bringing dance to everyone.

Dance has always been at the center of my life. From my earliest days as a little girl to my teenage years and now as the owner of my own school, it’s been a lifelong passion. I began my training at a local classical dance school in Kendal, which sparked my love for ballet, and later went on to study at Preston Dance College, where I earned my teaching qualifications.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching at dance and stage schools, studying in New York, performing in Finland, and choreographing many pantomimes. One of my favorite stories is nearly losing my job at Marks & Spencer because of my love for dancing! Every step of my journey has been fueled by my dedication to dance and the joy it brings.

Lola Armistead
Teaching Assistant at The Dance Atikk

Hello! My name is Lola, and I’ve recently transitioned from dancing to teaching here at Atikk! I started dancing at the age of 4 and continued right up until last year when I turned 18. At 15, I began competing with the Dance Atikk competition team, earning many medals and trophies along the way. Some of my most memorable experiences were performing at The Lowry in Manchester and the Winter Gardens in Blackpool – both were absolutely incredible! Saying goodbye to the stage was emotional, but I knew I couldn’t give up dancing completely…

In addition to dance, I also completed a Level 3 Sports Diploma at college, earning a Distinction*. I’m currently working on adding more qualifications to my training as well. I’m so excited to start working with everyone and can’t wait to see what this next year brings!

Faye Bowness
Musical Theatre Singing Teacher at The Dance Atikk

Faye is a 25-year-old soprano singer from the Lake District, performing in various events across the area. After completing her undergraduate studies in Music in June 2020, Faye discovered a passion for opera and musical theatre after taking part in numerous university productions. She then went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in Vocal Studies at the University of York, where she focused on learning the art of communicating through a song.

Faye has since returned to the Northwest, where she works as a solo performer, studying with Amanda Roocroft, and working as a peripatetic vocal teacher at local primary and secondary schools.

Faye continues to perform regularly, which not only fuels her passion for singing but also helps her maintain her knowledge in live performance, enabling her to pass this on to younger generations and inspire them to pursue their own musical journeys.

Our Biggies
Senior Dancers and Helpers at The Atikk

Within our younger classes, we always have "our biggies". A group of wonderfully senior dancers who help, look after, and care for the little ones. The biggies are an inspiration to our younger Atikkers and are well-loved by all. They often take the lead in some of our workshops, assist with fundraising for The Atikk, and are always there to lend a helping hand wherever needed. Their support and positive influence make a huge difference in our community!
